Slash My Back

Just a quick post, with tutorials and tips.

One of my friends 'is it just me or does everyone dress the same at college'
This is so true! It made me think of ways to avoid 'dressing the same' It's nice to be able to set yourself apart.

Thrifting
buying second hand and from charity shops saves alot of money and most of the time the item is no longer sold anywhere else or vintage!

Buy Abroad
when you're on holiday, the markets are quite good place to start, but I'd double check the quality

Buy Online
If you buy from an Indie brand, handmade or from a foreign country it's unlikely to bump into someone wearing the same clothes.

Raid relative's wardrobes
saves money and who's likely to be having the same things from 20 years ago?

Sew
easier said than done, but I love being able to make unique clothes that no one else has

Revamp and DIY
add a couple of beads, fabric paint, tie dye, stud, the possibilities are endless.
Go to shop you wouldn't normally go to sch as goth shops and

I thought I would post an old tutorial I did years ago

Get jumper or Tshirt
Tailor chalk the back where you want to cut (like so)
Carefully cut along the lines, making sure you don't cut the front

Simples!

I've had this jumper for 4 years, it's been to Germany, Hong Kong and HIM concert.
I love it to pieces :)

2008 when I first posted this tutorial.

I hope you like this tutorial, I'll be posting some more.
Happy Leap Year day too!

Do you feel everyone dresses too similar in your workplace?

Smart Sailor

The Sailor Cutsew from GLB vol 40 didn't take long at all to sew.
A night project, although the collar was quite hard to figure out :(

Salute!
It's nice and casual enough for daily wear too:) Although I hate sewing with strechy fabrics, I need to practice more!

I think I need to loosen the elastic in the arms too. For some reason my forearms and wrists are quite thin, but not my biceps :/

front and back
Thanks Mr Nice Guy for the photo of the back ^_^ I couldn't find my interfacing so I used black cotton instead for the interfacing of the button strip.

IW cutsew, IW hair tie
Here is the tutorial just click to enlarge :)

Unfortunatly I wasn't really a smart sailor going out drinking.
Note to self and everyone; know your limits

Sumo
Thanks Larry for the photos. I lost my necklace and house keys that night :/

What's your favourite fabric?
I prefer sewing with cotton, but I love silk.
...what have you lost when you've gone out?

Gothic Lolita Bible Scans - Inspiration

The Gothic Lolita Bible is a Japanese Mook, which contains alot of inspiration for both fashions. many come with stickers and sewing tutorials, however if you only want sewing tutorials, you're best off with Gosu Rori, which is only sewing tutorials and a few brand releases.

I thought I would finally share some scans from some of the issues I have.

I'm Ready To Be New Again

I love Sailor Lolita.

My outfit: Dress: Lipsy + DIY, Blouse: Moi Meme Moitie, Sailor Scarf: Handmade, Tights: Primark, Shoes: Graceland, Cardigan: Baby The Stars Shine Bright

I played dress up for Valentine's Day
(I hope people who celebrated it had a great day!)

I realised I haven't posted alot of 'new' things I've bought/received.

Hello Kitty Circle Top
I have to share my Hello Kitty top my mum bought me. It's a circle :D

(new tights)
I love tights, but I always rip them after only wearing them for a few hours :(

I'm also knitting this cute Tuxedo jumper for my Mandirin Teacher.

Here is the pattern (it's free!)

I'm felt a bit bored of myself recently, so hopefully something about me will dratiscally change.
Maybe I'll dye my hair or buy new fabric. I want go back to my size last year aswell. I will be doing a sponsored review on Fake Tattoos as soon as I recieve their products :)

What do you want to change about yourself?

Polka Dot Playsuit

I tried on a cute playsuit from Miss Selfridges, the zip wouldn't stay up and the playsuit barely covered my bra :/ so I decided to make one, since I've been wanting to make one for a while.

(me not looking impressed at the fitting)
The playsuit was a combination of the gosurori shorts and a basic princess seamed bodice. It was quick to make, but it's not perfect.

(phone camera shots)
I got a brand new spanking phone from Mr Nice Guy for Christmas, it makes contacting him and uploading photos so much easier! Thank you =^_^=

Sorry for the bad photos!

I've ran out of polka dot fabric :( But I'm loving the collection of polkadot clothes I have.
Bloomers, corset(bought), shorts, playsuit, skirt.

(VIP Sumo wristband)
I wore it out for clubbing, yeah word of advice, ALWAYS check what your friends are wearing, because you don't want to look like the 'slutty one'. I had fun, but it was quite an uncomfortable atmosphere, I thought the prices of the drinks were reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone who likes heavy music and mosh pits here is their website :)

What do you think of clubbing?
