Gyaru Inspiration - Vivi Mag Scans

If you read my pages before I went into blogger meltdown (ok very dramatised) last year, you might remember that I wanted to try Gyaru.
Align CenterVivi Jan 2011
I thought I would share some scans and how Gyaru is influencing me atm!
I want her hair!

I love the knitted one pieces, I wish I got bought some in Hong Kong, but if you don't already know I'm called a tall fat ass back in Hong Kong XD (clothes/tights are too short for me, and clothes were generally too small/tight)

It looks fierce :3

I've successfully self tanned my legs, but it's not the weather for shorts and nice skirts atm so I can't show them off.

However, I'm not sure what to do with hair, make-up and outfits! I've tried looking for Gyaru rules, but it just gave me a list of different types of styles. I'm lost :(

A group of cute girls with amazing legs
I was also determined to go on a mini diet to see if it would slim down my thighs but gave up after a couple of hours and ate 300 grams of hula hoops

I've been put off trying Gyaru, because I thought it was too sexy and feminine for me and the amazing pro Gyarus make me feel intimadated XD

What are you scared to try?

I'm scared to try full on gyaru and lolita so I am trying to incorperate things that inspire me into my fashion. So I might have things that a gyaru or lolita might not wear, but are inspired by them if that makes sense!! I follow loads of gyaru and lolita blogs. Universal Doll is my fav gyaru blog!

And shopping when its mega busy sucks and stresses me out!! I prefer walking slowly and browsing, easier to do when there isn't a mother with a thousand kids, digging the front of her buggy in my ankles!
And you should try some of the list <3 And thank you, I felt like a change on my blog layout!

I love this style of clothing, it's so cool! And I'm scared to try something like a bodycon dress because I think I'll just look ridiculous, but I think clothes fears can be overcome pretty easily. Plus you can adapt this style to your own needs. Thanks for the lovely comment as well :D xxx

Ahhhhh gyarus are so beautiful!!
I wish I had a personal stylist to make me pretty everyday -_- and lol yes, snsd girls have great legs! *envies*
Hmm you can be a cute gyaru instead of sexy? If you feel insecure about being "feminine and sexy" ~~

/I am pretty crazy, so I'd try anything once >.< (only if it doesn't include blood and spiders!)

Style wise, I'm afraid of things that are more girly because for the past five or so years, I gaven't dressed girly at all, so whenever I go to school dressed girlier, people always make mean comments towards me...When I tried casual lolita, one of my guy friends looked at me and said, "So you are a girl? Huge shocker..."

I love Vivi as you know :) I love it because I think gyaru style is really easy to copy...but in your own way. I'm not into gyaru in the same ways as others, but i definitely like to take inspiration in the way that they put the coordinates together! Love Sara Mari's blog!

Good luck with gyaru style! Hmm I'm not really sure what I'll be scared to try? Like usually I just wear what I like XD I find it too hard trying to stick to one style since it means I'll need to revamp my wardrobe lol.

And thanks for sharing magazine scans~ I always find it interesting to see their co-ordinations though it's not my style +w+

Hello! Thank you for the advice, that is what the dry cleaner said, even though they attempted to get rid of the colour :( sad!

Yes... SNSD have verrryy verrry nice legs lol. And thanks for tagging me =)

In one of my humanities classes there's a girl that goes full-out gyaru-style. The great thing about gyaru is that it makes you stand out, but stand out in a really good way. So yeah those outfits in that mag are definitely the ones you want to get noticed hehe.

Annnd I'm too scared to make any attempts on doing large full-scale paintings... paint costs a lot of money @_@

I can't pull off the gyaru look, though I wish I could! It's cute AND sexy!

[Anna] said...

So cuutee. I love all the styles in Vivi, but don't think i can pull it off because i'm not really skinny like all those models. And i got the same when i went to vietnam and the first thing people said to me were comments on how fat i was. I don't get how people stay thin in those countries with all those delicious foooddss! x

you know honestly! I would love to try gyaru! but here in my country, I would/could be easily mistaken for a slut! with the big hair and the make up and the cool outfits ._. I'm afraid of that. and ooohh all i want in my life right now is a foxtail pendant :<<

Saving Capulet said...

a pink foxtail? wow! that's totally cute! btw are you still in hk? i lost track of where you are, gomen! ._.

Saving Capulet said...

oh wow really? sheesh it's so hard to find good cardis here! but I saw the one I've been wanting to have online! here it is http://lawrarashop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_102&products_id=624 they even have kogal socks! it's good that we have plenty of gyaru bloggers here to guide us, I'm a bit problematic with the big curly hair tho lol!! it seems to different because then you'll have get used to false eye lashes and contact lens!

I think Gyaru is such a sexy look! I'd love to try it, but it's hard to pull off, I think.
Thanks for the scans. I enjoy looking through Japanese mags because they are such an inspiration

Love moments like diamonds' blog too! haha. and i loove Vivi. Gyaru style is just so amazing! i know, theres tremendous pressure in trying to pull it off properly. Is this what most lolitas transition to? Lolita => Gyaru. haha. I love loli fashion, but lately i've been looking at so much gyaru stuff. ONE OF THESE DAYS.... :)
